Many people have a complicated relationship with food and their body.
Some regard food as the enemy. Others feel good for eating vegetables, but bad for eating cookies.
Maybe some diet or restrict their eating during the day only to feel out of control with food that evening ... often resulting in guilt and shame.
Some exercise to pay penance for the food they eat. Others feel unhappy in their body the bathroom scale dictates their mood for the day.
A complicated relationship with food and body is so hard. I have all of the compassion in the world for those who struggle because I was there. My complicated relationship with food and body stole my brain space, my time and my joy. But not anymore. This isn’t right, and we deserve more.
