Is Your Movement Joyful?
🏀 Last weekend, I had a blast shooting baskets with my husband. It was good for my mind and body. I left feeling happy, energized and less stressed. *For me, this was #joyfulmovement.
😐 However, for many of us, exercise is far from joyful. It may feel like a chore more than anything else. This can happen when our primary reason for moving is to change our appearance. This was me at one time!
🤔 Does exercise feel joyful to you? If appearance didn’t matter, what kind of physical activity would you try?? What’s something you love to do?! Walking.. gardening.. playing with the kids..
💛 Remember, exercise (in the right amounts) is good for our mental and emotional health. It can also be fun and challenging! It’s a great way to have time for ourselves or maybe an opportunity to connect with a friend. It can also reduce our blood pressure, increase our good cholesterol (HDL), and strengthen our hunger and fullness signals.
