How to Stop the Restrict-Guilt-Binge Cycle

Updated: Oct 29, 2020

Are you stuck in the restrict-guilt-binge cycle?

It goes something like this...

You're not happy with the way your body looks and/or you think you need to eat “better” so you vow to “eat clean” or perhaps you tell yourself that you’ll stop eating sweets, but after a few days/weeks/months, the mental and physical deprivation sets in.

And you begin to feel crazy around food. Your eating feels out of control and you may find yourself bingeing. And this brings on feelings of immense guilt and shame. So, you muster up enough energy and again, you try to "eat healthy," but even harder this time. But you still end up with the same results and the cycle continues.

If you feel like you're stuck in the restrict-guilt-binge cycle, you’re not alone. So many of my clients come to me because they’re tangled up in this pattern too. And to make matters worse, my clients think it’s their lack of willpower or their poor self-discipline, but this couldn't be further from the truth. The answer isn't found in trying harder or improving your willpower.

So, what is the answer? Making peace with food and learning the practice of Intuitive Eating. Because once you eliminate the deprivation, your struggle with begin to fade.

I promise there’s hope for you.

If you want to stop the restrict-binge-guilt cycle, I'd be honored to help you. Request an appointment, and let's see if we're a good fit for each other.
